Is Jesus in Heaven or Hell because He died and took the sins of the world on Him?

Excellent point, except you forgot one little detail and that is that Jesus rose again three days after He died. After He rose from the dead, He traveled around for about 40 days before He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God.
